Your friend tells you a little bit about her postpartum experience.

"Postpartum? Oh, man, I didn't realize you were depressed," you respond.

"Oh! No, I didn't have postpartum depression. Postpartum just means the time after the baby is born. Every new mom goes through postpartum."

As she goes on, you can tell she really grew a lot by going through her experience. You start getting some ideas of what you want to learn more about to prepare BEFORE the birth.

"It was tough," she says, "but I felt really supported. My postpartum doula made things so much nicer."
