Finally, you're holding your baby!
The birth was intense. A lot of things were different than you had expected. You feel like you really want to talk to someone about how it all went. You feel so much love when you look at your baby, and so relieved to not be pregnant anymore!
The next day, it seems the high you were feeling from the birth has started to wear off.
You're sore and exhausted, and you find yourself feeling irritable and emotional.
You had heard about baby blues. Is that what this is? Or could you have postpartum depression?
No, you remind yourself that this is normal. You remember that research you were doing just before your baby was born. Knowing is helpful, but it's still a different ballgame when it's currently happening. You know your friend would understand and her encouragement could help.
Part of you just doesn't want to bother her, though.
